Dr. Katelyn (Katie) Schneider attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. During optometry school, Dr. Schneider volunteered on a mission trip to Guerrero, Mexico, where she and her fellow peers provided medical eye care, determining candidacy for cataract surgery, and worked alongside ophthalmologists for cataract pre- and post-op evaluations for over 300 patients during a 3-day clinic period.

Dr. Schneider is a South Dakota native and completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Minnesota Duluth. While attending UMD, Dr. Schneider played on the women’s soccer team. She helped the Bulldogs advance to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. Go Dogs!

Dr. Schneider is trained in the art of custom contact lenses and specializes in fitting patients with keratoconus, post-corneal grafts, and other corneal diseases, as well as patients that just want better vision through contact lenses. Over the years, Dr. Schneider has developed a passion for myopia management and loves working with patients of all ages to help slow the progression of myopia. In addition to contact lenses, Dr. Schneider also has experience in pediatrics, dry eye, and ocular disease management including cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. She is a proud member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.

In her free time, Dr. Schneider enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, running, and is an aspiring dog mom.
